Puppies are naturally energetic and need more movement and stimulation than a dog would. Puppies don’t always have the best manners. However, it’s important to remember that a puppy is just doing what comes naturally to it. The concept of manners is an entirely human concept. It can be hard to remember that, though, when puppies are jumping, nipping, digging or pulling when they shouldn’t. They may even try to escape or keep you up all night when you want to sleep because they think it’s play time. That’s why it’s up to you to teach them what they need to know.

You should also keep in mind that your puppy may look different as an adult than it does as a puppy. Sometimes, when you get a shelter puppy, its exact lineage may be impossible to figure out. Some shelter puppies may look purebred, but may wind up being mixed breeds that look much different when they get older.

As you can see, there is a lot to think about before you become a dog owner. There is also a lot to think about before you decide which type of dog you wish to buy or adopt. So do not just make the decision to become a dog owner lightly, give the matter some serious thought before you take the plunge. Best of luck making the decision that is right for you.
